September 2015: Digging Right Now

Digging Right Now Sept15I am sure you’ve noticed my absence the last few weeks (big hole in your life, right?). I have come to a point recently where I have to prioritize. I can (and do) write every day. Unfortunately, I started writing blog posts before doing my WIP writing.

Obviously, that’s defeating the purpose. I enjoy this site, but I love writing fiction more. So, from now on, I’ll definitely be blogging on the third Friday of the month (and I’m still available on Heart-Shaped Glasses on the 7th of every month).

I hope to be able to become more active soon, but for now, we’ll all just have to make do with a little less Lori.

And now, what I’m digging this month!

laptopMy  laptop with a beautiful skin from decalgirl.com. I’ve had this skin since November, but I recently bought my daughter one (an octupus!) for her new laptop. Also, every day, I’m reminded that my laptop is so perfectly me and I swear I think it helps with getting in that “creative” mood.

81MkSujXHILIn the 1980s, I was between 6 and 16. It’s kind of a big part of my life. I recently recalled a TV show from the late 80s called Thirtysomething. I thought that since I’m a) a child of the 80s, b) recently out of my thirties and that c) my mom was in her thirties in the 80s, it would be a fun thing to revisit. Imagine how excited I was to find this great show on hulu.com. I’m currently about two-thirds of the way through the first season and if you can identify with my reasons, I think you’d enjoy it, too.

feedyFinally, I use feedly to read a lot of blogs. I don’t do it every day. Sometimes I’ll go through two or three weeks within a day or two. Thanks to this app (I read it on my phone), I don’t miss the awesome writing blogs, consumerist, my local newspaper, and tons more. If you enjoy reading articles in your own freaking time, give it a try.
